Night Safety Bus Scheme, run in conjunction with Oxford Brookes University. The Safety Bus is staffed by volunteer drivers and navigators. To use the service simply ring 07714445050 between 9p.m.-3a.m. Monday to Saturdays and 9p.m.-1a.m. on Sundays. The bus will pick you up and deliver you to any destination within the ring road all for only £1 donation per trip. The scheme is available to OBSU and OUSU members. Priority will always be given to vulnerable people and individuals as the emphasis for the scheme is on safety. For more information, visit:

Free light bulbs are available for use in college accomodation by talking to the Porters. Unfortunately, however, these are the environmentally unfriendly incandescent variety and seem to fail annoyingly often. A solution to both of these issues is to buy environmentally friendly fluorescent lightbulbs that last for years. Such technology has improved a lot in recent years and a recent study found that people preferred the light from modern fluorescent bulbs over regular incandescent ones what type of light bulb they were using. Fluorescent lightbulbs are available for less than a pound each at places like Robert Dyas (which also has a 10% student discount). You can also mail things at the Porter's lodge. This is free for mail destinations within the university and at standard Royal Mail rates for destinations outside the university.
